My favorite characters in the Pokemon anime are the recurring characters. I like the depth that they add to the series. I like the main characters and the villains. I even like the Professors, but my favorites are the recurring characters.

I enjoy watch the family of police officers that are all named Jenny. The Pokemon anime character Brock can always tell the Jennys apart. He can even tell the Joys apart. I like the Joys because they are all nurses with the same name. I think that it is super clever to make the Pokemon anime like that.

Nurse Joy is a family of Pokmon nurses that are all named Joy. They have an identical appearance, but Brock has no difficulty telling one from another. The Joys in the Orange Islands Pokemon anime series are the only ones dressed differently. There is talk that the Joys were named that because the word joi in Japanese means female doctor.

Gary Oaks grandfather was a Pokemon Professor. He is another one of my favorite Pokemon anime recurring characters. He is in a longtime rivalry with the Pokemon anime series main hero, Ash Ketchum. I like Gary Oak because he is stubborn, brash, and far from humble. His goal and ambition is to be number one at whatever he sets his sights on.

Richie and Ash Ketchum are friends. They met in the Pokemon anime Indigo Pokmon League tournament. The two of them vowed to become Pokemon masters and there have been shows that focus on Richie on his journey. He is a good recurring character and adds depth to Ashs personality.

Delia Ketchum is my hands-down favorite of the Pokemon anime series recurring characters. She is the mother of Ask Ketchum. She comes across as a kind and gentle woman that often scolds her son for putting himself in danger. I like that the English adaptation of Pokemon anime has a running joke where Delia Ketchum reminds Ash to change his underwear every time they speak. That is so funny to me.
